One of the primary draws for boys to join scouting is camping and out door activities. Camping for cub scouts is very different from that of older scouts. We want to expose them to fun activities, help them learn about the great out doors, and instill an understanding of conservation and "leave no trace."
Cub scout camping is usually held at scout facilities or similar with bathroom facilities, primitive or permanent tents and/or cabins and supervised activities. For a full list of guidelines, please refer to the BSA's guide to safe scouting chapter on camping.
See below for a typical checklist for scout camping trips or click here for a printable version.
Items on this list may be added to or subtracted depending on the location, time of year, weather, etc. This is a starting point.
